Abstract
Cet article dresse un bref historique de la collection "photo-poche" et notamment du contexte culturel et politique qui a conduit à sa création en 1982 par Robert Delpire, dans la droite ligne de la fondation du CNP (Centre National de la Photographie) et de la nomination de ce dernier à sa tête. Les titres de cette collection, de petits formats, abordables, avec des reproductions de qualité, sont pensés comme des encyclopédies miniatures à destination du grand public. Ils s'inscrivent en cela à la fois dans la volonté de l'époque d'offrir à la photographie une légitimité institutionnelle et dans la tradition éditoriale et didactique de la maison Delpire.
