Abstract
L’étude des archives de l’Archivio di Stato di Roma sur les Commissions militaires de la XXXe division, en relation avec les actes de brigandage, permet de s’interroger sur la nature des rapports entre l’œuvre d’intégration napoléonienne de l’Italie centrale et les populations rurales du département des Bouches-du-Tibre. Les nombreux procès-verbaux, minutes et avis d’exécution permettent de se faire une idée relativement précise des contraintes qu’une administration moderne, tatillonne et répressive, a fait peser sur les populations agropastorales, les plus pauvres du Latium, ainsi que de la résistance plus ou moins organisée qui a vu le jour dans ces contrées annexées par l’Empire.
