La réussite des étudiantes infirmières lors des stages cliniques repose de manière importante sur la préparation des infirmières au rôle de préceptrice. Il est donc indispensable de créer et de rendre disponibles des activités de formation continue qui visent le développement de compétences en préceptorat dans les milieux cliniques. En effet, l’opportunité de participer à des activités de formation sur le préceptorat offre des bénéfices importants quant à la satisfaction de se sentir mieux préparé et au partage d’expériences avec des collègues. Or, l’environnement en ligne permet la création de programmes qui encouragent les échanges et les discussions en plus de favoriser un espace d’apprentissage social. Cet article présente la mise en œuvre d’une activité de formation en ligne pour soutenir le développement des compétences de préceptrices accompagnant des étudiantes en stage. Les résultats de cette expérience ont mis en évidence plusieurs contraintes à la participation des infirmières à cette activité ainsi que l’importance d’un partenariat organisationnel entre l’établissement d’enseignement et le milieu clinique pour contourner ces contraintes.
