Abstract
Les nouvelles missions du traducteur dans les domaines de l’audiovisuel et du multimédia se conjuguent avec une évolution de son métier, sous des contraintes d’efficacité et d’efficience accrues. Une étude de cas multiples révèle les interdépendances entre trois pôles d’évolution du métier de traducteur. La transformation des aptitudes à traduire et la maîtrise de nouveaux outils techniques entretiennent une dynamique contradictoire d’atténuation et de renforcement des frontières de la spécialisation. L’interaction entre les nouveaux modes d’organisation du travail de traduction et les aptitudes à traduire conduit à une spécialisation des traducteurs indépendants et à une polyvalence des personnels permanents. Enfin, la maîtrise de nouveaux outils techniques et les nouveaux modes d’organisation se renforcent mutuellement.
