On observe une nouvelle tendance dans les écoles de gestion telles que HEC Montréal, soit la volonté manifestée par des étudiants d’inscrire leurs premières expériences professionnelles dans le champ de l’accompagnement entrepreneurial. Désireux de vivre de l’intérieur les missions de l’entrepreneur et d’expérimenter les enjeux des phases de création et de démarrage, ces derniers recherchent l’occasion de relever des défis variés. Devant ce phénomène grandissant, une question se pose : en quoi un stage dans une jeune entreprise peut-il correspondre aux défis que des étudiants en fin de parcours universitaire souhaitent relever ? Cet article présente six défis propres à la réalisation d’un mandat d’accompagnement pouvant ouvrir sur des occasions d’apprentissage et de développement professionnel, défis découverts à la suite d’une expérience d’immersion au sein d’une entreprise en démarrage, vécue par un étudiant de HEC Montréal. L’objectif poursuivi est que la possibilité de vivre de tels mandats soit bénéfique pour les entrepreneurs accompagnés et plus facilement accessible aux étudiants. Des pistes de réflexion sur le rôle d’orientation et d’encadrement de l’université pour ces stages sont également proposées.
