Abstract
Résumé Ce texte propose une lecture pragmatique du Vierge incendié de Paul-Marie Lapointe en examinant, entre autres, les notions d'espace-temps, de modalisation et de presupposition. Il tente de mettre à jour les principales stratégies énonciatives qui sous-tendent le recueil. On constate ainsi que le narrateur, dont la subjectivité transparaît dans le choix des termes axio-logiques, recourt à la structure infinitive pour produire ses énoncés les plus percutants. Les déclarations péremptoires assurent, en effet, puissance et fermeté à ce discours poétique qui rompt avec V'horizon d'attente* de l'époque. L'imbrication surprenante des tropes s'avère, quant à elle, le lieu premier de l'interrogation pour le lecteur.
