Abstract
Alors que se profile l'organisation de la coupe du monde de football en 2010, véritable catalyseur des actions publiques et privées, les villes sud-africaines tentent de réformer leur système de transport urbain au nom du développement durable et d'une meilleure régulation, en introduisant notamment le système bus rapid transit (BRT). Dans un secteur marqué par une profusion d'opérateurs privés, une régulation chancelante et des modes de transport différenciés, la quête d'un consensus s'avère particulièrement ardue. Quels sont les enjeux de cette réforme et quelles en seront les conséquences pour les citadins?
