Abstract
Ce texte propose d’examiner de nouveau certains faits de l’histoire des paroisses fondées autour du Bassin des Mines en Acadie avant le Grand dérangement de 1755. Jusqu’à présent, la tradition orale et l’historiographie de l’Acadie ont perpétué un malentendu quant à l’année de création de la paroisse qui aurait été fondée presque en même temps que celle de Saint-Charles à lamythique Grand’Prée. Ce texte jette un nouveau regard critique sur le développement social et économique de la région des Mines, qui fut la figure de proue de l’Acadie d’avant le Grand dérangement, par le biais de ces organisations sociales de premier plan qu’étaient les paroisses et propose ainsi une nouvelle chronologie de la création des paroisses acadiennes des Mines.
