Dans cet article, les auteurs utilisent leurs recherches rcentes pour montrer que : l'entreprise n'est pas viable si elle se focalise seulement sur l'intrt des actionnaires ; beaucoup d'entreprises travers le monde sont stratgiquement florissantes mme si elles sont soumises des rgles socitales qui les obligent ne considrer les actionnaires que comme l'une des multiples parties satisfaire ; le monde des organisations ne peut survivre qu'en s'loignant de l'individualisme froce qu'impose l'actionnaire en l'quilibrant avec une perspective plus thique et plus communautaire ; l'actionnaire gagnerait plus long terme si on ne le mettait pas sur un pidestal ; les gestionnaires doivent tre librs de cette exigence pour pouvoir enfin donner la mesure de leurs comptences stratgiques.
