Abstract
Les milieux humides du littoral landais possèdent des richesses écologiques et patrimoniales reconnues. Ils apportent de la diversité aux paysages, souvent décrits comme de simples étendues de pins maritimes ou de sable. Parmi ces zones humides, on distingue les courants littoraux, petits cours d’eau qui participent à l’évacuation des eaux du plateau landais vers l’océan. Sans doute, le Courant d’Huchet est celui qui a suscité et suscite encore le plus grand intérêt. Ce coin d’eau et de verdure est devenu aujourd’hui un réel objet de curiosité, voire un sanctuaire pour les touristes et les promeneurs en quête de retour à la nature. L’invention de l’appellation Côte d’Argent, la promotion de la station balnéaire d’Hossegor et la création du mythe de l’Amazonie landaise ont fortement contribué depuis plus d’un siècle, à la renommée du Courant d’Huchet.
