Abstract
À travers des données qualitatives obtenues au moyen d’entrevues semi-structurées auprès de jeunes immigrants réfugiés, ce texte examine les supports de réussite socio-scolaire de ceux-ci en milieu franco-manitobain. Cet examen renvoie à l’identification de stratégies de soutien relatives aux trois instances suivantes du vécu quotidien de l’enfant-réfugié dans le nouvel environnement: interface famille-école; langue et communication à l’école; culture, identité et réseaux de solidarité en milieu scolaire. L’analyse des données effectuées en référence aux notions de résilience et de mobilité sociale révèle qu’à l’échelle individuelle, le jeune élève semble faire montre d’une ingénierie sociale qui s’allie à l’expression d’un comportement résilient. Ce comportement laisse entrevoir, principalement, l’élaboration d’un nouveau projet de vie, d’un sentiment d’appartenance à l’institution scolaire, de nouvelles amitiés, avec une volonté de faire preuve de sa compétence face aux défis. Ces données structurent l’élan de sa nouvelle mobilité sociale.
