Résumé L’octroi de récompenses s’avère pour l’entreprise une solution peu coûteuse qui peut avoir des effets positifs sur la productivité, la conservation, l’attraction et le moral du personnel. Malheureusement, il s’agit de pratiques peu ou mal utilisées. Pourtant, la reconnaissance peut être une pratique simple et à la portée de tous les cadres. Cet article traite des fondements théoriques relatifs à la reconnaissance, de la variété des modes de reconnaissance, de l’importance de reconnaître ou de récompenser davantage les employés et des conditions à respecter pour améliorer l’efficacité des pratiques de reconnaissance. Nous nous intéressons à la multiplicité des pratiques de reconnaissance ou de récompenses, pécuniaires ou non pécuniaires, autres que celles qui sont liées à la rémunération variable.
