Abstract
Einleitung Die Ottawa-Charta behandelt ausdrücklich den Stellenwert natürlicher Ressourcen für die menschliche Gesundheit: „Die enge Bindung zwischen Mensch und Umwelt bildet die Grundlage für einen sozial-ökologischen Weg zur Gesundheit […]. Jede Strategie zur Gesundheitsförderung muss den Schutz der natürlichen und der sozialen Umwelt sowie die Erhaltung der vorhandenen natürlichen Ressourcen mit zu ihrem Thema machen“ (WHO, 1986). Hier äußert sich eine ökologische Gesundheitsperspektive, wie sie zur Tradition von Medizin und Hygiene seit der Antike gehört.
