Abstract
En vouant sa prétention à la scientificité dans l’affermissement de l’autonomie morale des individus, la science économique contrecarre d’emblée non seulement la primauté mais la réalité même du bien commun. Ce faisant, elle se voit contrainte à suggérer des éthiques de substitution dont les écueils en viennent a contrario à démontrer la prégnance du bien commun ; et plus encore sa nécessité, rappelée impérieusement par la réalité même des faits économiques. S’illustre ainsi le constat sans concession de Jean-Pierre Dupuy, suivant lequel l’économie rationalise lourdement et retrouve ce que la morale a toujours su.
