L’ambition de cet article est de montrer que l’humour est à la fois chez Kourouma une technique d’écriture et une modalité de perception de la réalité. L’humour appliqué à des situations coloniales et postcoloniales le plus souvent difficiles, voire insoutenables, pour le continent africain, permet à Kourouma d’articuler le politique — aussi dégradé soit-il en apparence — sur le cosmique. Une telle articulation rend à l’Histoire de l’Afrique, particulièrement depuis la conquête coloniale, toute sa dimension événementielle. Au rebours d’une idéologie coloniale tenace, Kourouma nous dit que quelque chose n’a jamais cessé d’avoir lieu en Afrique, qui concerne le monde dans sa totalité.
