Abstract
As Nick Timmins pointed out in last month's BJHCM, health economists have been clapping their hands with glee over the prospect of the NHS routinely recording patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) for some selected interventions from April 2009. This will be a first, not just for the NHS, but for any national health system in the world.
