Abstract
AREMACC 19 Octobre 2007 (la Rochelle) La Prévention des Dysmorphoses (dans tous ses états) QUESTION : « POURQUOI » avoir choisi ce sujet d'exposé pour une séance de travail exclusivement consacrée à la prévention des dysmorphoses ?RÉPONSE : Parce que la respiration buccale est à l'origine de l'existence et/ou de la persistance de la quasi totalité des dysfonctions céphaliques (oro-faciales et cervicales) donc des dysmorphoses qui en résultent.Faire disparaître les troubles ventilatoires le plus rapidement possible est donc le meilleur moyen de « prévenir » ces dysfonctions et, si elles sont déjà apparues, de les « intercepter ».Il en résulte que toute démarche préventive ou «préthérapeutique» des dysmorphoses dento-maxillo-faciales doit impérativement comporter le dépistage d'une respiration buccale et l l l'évaluation de sa responsabilité dans le développement des anomalies dento-squelettiques du sujet.
