À la suite d’une demande de la Fédération des Moissons, l’équipe des signataires a mis sur pied un projet visant à soutenir l’action des groupes oeuvrant dans le domaine de l’aide alimentaire et soucieux d’instaurer des pratiques alternatives d’aide alimentaire. Elle a pu aussi observer de près ce qu’elle a nommé des « expériences de microsolidarité ». On a alors constaté que certains groupes communautaires d’aide alimentaire constituaient des lieux où les personnes démunies pouvaient trouver un certain réseau social, prendre part à diverses activités et obtenir ou échanger des services de base. Cependant, ces groupes demeurent marginaux parmi les centaines de groupes qui offrent de l’aide alimentaire au Québec. Cet article rend compte du questionnement de la Fédération des Moissons, du contexte de l’aide alimentaire au Québec ainsi que des expériences des groupes qui ont adopté des pratiques alternatives qui sont aussi des expériences de microsolidarité. Ce profil de la situation nous amène à nous demander si ces groupes constituent un mouvement social.
