Abstract
À travers Ombre sultane d'Assia Djebar, la présente étude entend montrer les enjeux et les mécanismes de domination qui sont propres à l'utilisation d'une langue et partant, selon la leçon de Barthes, aux effets subséquents de son fascisme. Car Djebar écrit en une autre langue que celle qui lui est propre et qui est propre à ce qu'elle décrit, met en scène, dont elle fait fiction. Mais ce déplacement linguistique est le premier signe d'une levée des voiles qui en retour, fait de la langue et de son usage - le français, ici - un combat. Il s'agira donc de faire voir comment par le passage de la signification au sens se lèvent, se relèvent, la femme arabe, les réminiscences du passé colonial, la langue qui est souffle de cette levée et non plus entrave. Ainsi passe-t-on du fascisme à l'être-au-monde par la langue qui devait initialement y condamner.
