Abstract
Après avoir examiné dans un précédent travail les analogies de la légende des Infants de Lara avec certaines traditions épiques « fratriarcales » caractéristiques des littératures indo-européennes, notamment celtiques, il s’agit ici de vérifier, à propos du personnage de Mudarra, quelques-unes des hypothèses proposées dans cette étude comparative. La première partie de ce nouvel essai est consacrée à une analyse typologique et fonctionnelle du bâtard métis et à une comparaison du scénario relatif aux conditions de sa naissance et à ses « enfances » avec les récits celtiques concernant le dieu Lug et les héros épiques qui lui sont associés. Dans une seconde partie (à paraître) seront étudiés d’autres indices d’un possible enracinement de la geste castillane dans un réseau de représentations légendaires et rituelles, dont l’origine celtique semble confirmée par l’examen des antiquités locales et du folklore de la région concernée.
