Abstract
Poser les femmes comme sujet de l’histoire implique que leurs expériences et leur point de vue seront pris en compte. Ce texte réfléchit sur cette question autour de trois points. D’abord, un bref examen critique de deux ouvrages de Benoît Lacroix, dont les titres contrastés laissent croire, à tort, que l’expérience religieuse des femmes sera considérée. Ensuite, le rappel des propositions théoriques de Joan W. Scott, sur le genre en histoire. Enfin, un bref examen de quelques ouvrages récents en histoire religieuse au Québec, ce qui permet d’affirmer que l’absence de la perspective du genre entraîne des lacunes dans la connaissance du passé.
