L’histoire des émissions religieuses à la radio fait problème de multiples manières : par la mémoire sélective des témoins de notre époque, la méconnaissance des sources et l’interprétation faussée par des idéologies de rejet global d’une époque du Québec. Notre observation attentive des faits de diffusion de la radio situe ce volet de la culture religieuse par rapport à des contextes essentiels à l’interprétation : histoire du Québec, histoire de l’Église et histoire du média. La période retenue va de la toute première émission, L’heure catholique (1931), jusqu’à Dialogue (1969) et Les grandes religions (1972) et jusqu’au terme de L’histoire religieuse du Canada français (1972- 1983) avec Émile Legault, dont le décès en 1983 marque la fin d’une époque. Il faut conclure que ce domaine historique est à peine exploré par la recherche et que, surtout, tout le volet de l’analyse de la réception reste à réaliser.
