Dans un "essai de maîtrise" présenté au Département de science politique de l'Université Laval, en 1960, Paul Cliché avait réuni un volumineux dossier documentaire sur les neuf élections provinciales tenues, dans le Québec, entre 1927 et 1956. Sans reprendre ici ses analyses statistiques, il étudie quelques-uns des principaux points que ses investigations 1’avaient amené à mettre en évidence.
