À La Licorne I l y a des projets qui n'aboutissent pas et pourtant, après coup, des fragments d'écriture (fragments qu'on retrouve par hasard en tripatouillant des disquettes d'ordinateurs) peuvent avoir encore quelqu'intérêt.Ils n'ont pas trouvé leur place dans une structure ample, la s[t]ructure d'une pièce de théâtre, mais étrangement, dans leur solitude, ils disent assez bien de quoi la pièce en question aurait voulu parler.En voici un petit exemple.Il s'agissait de faire un spectacle de restaurant.Un restaurant un peu particulier: La Licorne.J'aime les gens qui gèrent La Licorne.Ce sont des gens de théâtre et ils ont réalisé ou aidé à réaliser, dans leur restaurant-théâ[t]re, des spectacles qui comptent parmi les plus beaux du théâtre québécois depuis une quinzaine d'années.Je me suis dit qu'il faudrait écrire des choses qui fassent saliver le public, qu'après avoir vu le spectacle les gens aient faim, qu'on juge de la réussite de la pièce non selon ses vertus dramatiques mais en fonction de son efficacité gastronomique.Si les spectateurs mangeaient beaucoup et bien, la pièce était bonne.De plus j'avais envie de mélanger dans un même texte trois thèmes qui me semblent, globalement, à considérer la destinée des humains sur notre planète, assez proches les uns des autres: Le théâtre, la cuisine et l'amour.Voilà donc un fragment d'une pièce qui n'a jamais été écrite.(La scène se passe dans un restaurant.Edouard est seul à une table.Il a fini de manger.La table est encore encombrée.Apparemment il a bien mangé et il a bu copieusement.Il sirotte un alcool, les yeux dans le vague.Il est déjà passablement éméché et pas prêt de s'arrêter.Il regarde de temps en temps par la grande baie vitrée qui donne sur la rue.Dehors, il neige.Entre Juliette, venant d'une autre salle du restaurant.L'ANNUAIRE THÉÂTRAL, N° 35, PRINTEMPS 2004 Elle s'approche d'Edouard.
