Voyager en France pour y nouer des relations devient de plus en plus une stratégie de valorisation au sein de l’espace littéraire canadien-français de l’entre-deux-guerres. Un séjour dans la Ville lumière permet aux auteurs d’y faire des rencontres, d’y publier ou d’y recevoir une critique élogieuse, mais aussi et surtout de se réclamer à leur retour d’une certaine autorité qui peut contribuer à justifier leur entrée ou leur conservation au panthéon littéraire. C’est pourquoi plusieurs écrivains ne manquent pas de faire l’étalage de leurs excursions intellectuelles dans les milieux parisiens, voire d’en proposer, dans leurs mémoires, souvenirs ou récits de voyage, une reconstitution stratégique.
