Utilisation croissante d'un travail « informé » ; socialisation étatique de la reproduction (culturelle et biologique) des travaillants : ces deux courants alimentent la croissance économique et estompent les frontières entre « infra » et « super » structures ; surtout, ils tendent à dépersonnaliser les fonctions du capital pour les investir plutôt dans les appareils techno-bureaucratiques d'exploitation, de mobilisation et de modelage des puissances humaines destinées à se vendre. On examine ici quelques manières dont ces forces historiques ont remodelé la société politique québécoise : rôle sociétal de l'État et modalités de sa gestion ; ascension et expansion des « nouvelles classes » ; ajustement des pratiques politiques et des stratégies des corps intermédiaires à une place publique réduite aux distants mécanismes d'une gouverne cybernétisée.
