Abstract
L'analyse de la distribution des activités économiques reliées au champ de la défense permet de constater une concentration géographique qui fait en sorte que les défis du désarmement interpellent un nombre limité de régions et de localités. Au Québec, la question concerne essentiellement la région de Montréal où est concentrée 63 % de l'économie de défense de la province. En touchant principalement les secteurs manufacturiers les plus avancés au plan technologique, en faisant appel à une forte proportion de main-d'oeuvre spécialisée et en affectant les secteurs les plus actifs en matière de recherche et développement, l'adaptation de l'économie de défense s'y situe au confluent de plusieurs grands enjeux économiques.
