Abstract
Cet article présente les points saillants d’une brève recherche menée auprès d’une demi-douzaine de petits groupes de jeunes sans domicile fixe, tous usagers de centres communautaires d’hébergement. On y rend compte des témoignages recueillis au cours d’entrevues semi-directives qui visaient à mettre au jour la représentation du social, telle qu’elle apparaîtrait dans le discours commun de ces jeunes. Il ressort de cet exercice de « sociologie spontanée » une image de la société qui coïncide par de nombreux traits à celle qu’évoque le thème de la postmodernité : perte de confiance dans la rationalité de l’ordre social, retard et dysfonction des institutions par rapport à l’évolution accélérée de la société et perte des ancrages identitaires dans l’espace.
