Abstract
This paper presents a control policy of a manufacturing system made of two machines and two buffers. This production system generates conforming and non conforming products. The control variables considered are the instants at which preventive maintenance has to be performed on each machine, and both buffer inventory levels. Our objective is to reach the best compromise cost/availability/quality. The adopted approach is based on simulation, experimental design and a multi-criteria analysis.
