Abstract
The introduction of supplementary prescribing will be of benefit to patients with diabetes as this is likely to help to achieve the standards of care which have been promised for those with diabetes and also ease doctors’ workloads. More rigid control of blood glucose levels leads to better outcomes for patients with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. This article outlines the different medications which can be prescribed for patients with diabetes and discusses some issues surrounding their prescription.
