Abstract
Une double série de transformations peut être observée au cours de ces dernières années en France: dans la sphère éducative, une tendance à passer d'un système d'enseignement centré sur les savoirs disciplinaires à un système d'apprentissage centré sur l'élève; dans la sphère du travail, une tendance à préférer une organisation valorisante centrée sur les compétences des individus salariés à une organisation productive où la qualification est traditionnellement attachée au poste. Ces transformations en cours dans deux sphères, pourtant autonomes, présentent une certaine similitude au niveau des techniques et des pratiques mises en oeuvre à cet effet qui relèvent, ici comme là, de la même vision intellectualiste de l'action humaine fondée sur des intentions rationnelles. Le processus de rationalisation instrumentale ainsi accompli se double simultanément d'un mouvement poussé d'individualisation.
