Abstract
Lionel Groulx, fondateur de la Revue d’histoire de l’Amérique française , était sans doute l’un des penseurs les plus importants du Canada français au xx e siècle. L’héritage intellectuel de ce prêtre historien continue de faire l’objet de débats parmi les historiens du Québec. Le présent article analyse les écrits publiés de Groulx lors des dernières années de sa vie (1960-1967), afin d’en faire ressortir son attitude vis-à-vis de la Révolution tranquille. À partir d’une analyse textuelle, l’auteure cherche à exposer une partie de la complexité et de l’ambiguïté de sa pensée face à cet événement. Au total, alors que Groulx le nationaliste applaudissait la construction de l’État sous le gouvernement Lesage, Groulx le prêtre percevait les tendances laïcisantes de la Révolution tranquille comme le démantèlement de la civilisation traditionnelle du Canada français telle qu’il la concevait.
