L’histoire des familles immigrantes : un enjeu pour l’intervention sociale dans les régions du Québec

Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse à la question des familles immigrantes dans des régions du Québec dites homogènes, c’est-à-dire traditionnellement peu confrontées à la présence d’immigrants. Grâce à une recherche menée dans deux régions du Québec, l’Estrie et le Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, plusieurs objets de mésentente entre immigrants et intervenants du monde social sont abordés : notamment la famille, l’histoire et le changement. À la suite de cette analyse, une approche d’intervention interculturelle contextualisée prenant en compte ces dimensions est présentée. Elle permet d’identifier les axes de formation qui devraient être développés pour ouvrir l’ensemble des étudiants à ces réalités interculturelles.
