Abstract
Indications are that the stratospheric ozone layer may be on the road to recovery, according to a 16 September report by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Meteorological Organization. However, the report cautions that the ozone layer will still be vulnerable, even with continued international compliance with the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. “During the next decade, we should see a recovery of the ozone layer;”said Gerard Megie, co‐chair of the Montreal Protocol's scientific assessment panel.
