Abstract
La forêt privée, à cause de l’importance indiscutable de l’élément humain inhérent à ce mode de tenure, se trouve au confluent de différents univers conceptuels. Dans ce contexte, les acteurs forestiers, peu importe leur appartenance, se fixent pour objectif de transmettre ce qu’ils jugent être des informations, des opinions ou des connaissances de qualité afin de faciliter la communication des savoirs liés à la foresterie. Parmi les outils de communication utilisés pour rejoindre le propriétaire forestier québécois, le guide pratique semble avoir la cote. Nous avons procédé à une analyse qualitative du Guide terrain – saines pratiques d’aménagement en forêt privée afin de découvrir comment le forestier conçoit la forêt qu’il présente, décrit et explique dans ce guide. L’approche métaphorique proposée par Lakoff et Johnson (1985) a permis de mettre en lumière le contenu latent du discours. L’analyse thématique des métaphores relevées, combinée à l’examen de leur articulation entre elles, a permis de constater que la forêt est conceptualisée de façon à y encourager l’implication humaine.
