Depuis plus de soixante ans, l’ Antigone d’Anouilh est l’un des plus grands succès du théâtre français. Créée à la fin de l’Occupation, elle a été reprise dès le lendemain de la Libération. Sa représentation a fait à l’époque l’objet de lectures politiques contradictoires. Pour les uns, l’héroïne de Sophocle est une résistante à la tyrannie, pour d’autres, l’auteur a saccagé une icône morale et civique et humanisé Créon le tyran. Les critiques n’avaient pas vraiment fait attention à un texte qui est habile et entretient toutes les ambiguïtés possibles.
