Abstract
Quand la violence prend la forme privée d’une mutilation du corps individuel, comment le corps social se trouve-t-il interpellé ? Que comprendre de la prévalence croissante d’automutilation chez les jeunes occidentaux ? Des craintes de mort gagnent aisément l’entourage, mais ces jeunes parlent surtout d’aménagement d’une douleur morale qu’ils tolèrent mal. La violence du désinvestissement devient une solution économique et antimétaphorique, alors que les autoérotismes achoppent. Cette même violence s’observe dans l’organisation des soins pédopsychiatriques québécois, à la manière d’une autre mutilation.
