Abstract
Résumé L'analyse des rapports se nouant entre íes treize poèmes de Paul-Marie Lapointe et les treize lithographies de Gisèle Verreault dans Bouche rouge est conduite à partir du postulat, posé par Youri Lotman et Boris Gasparov, d'une relation d'isomorphisme entre l'organisation rhétorique du verbal et celle de l'artistique. On peut ainsi concevoir l'établissement d'un système bipolaire, entre les poèmes et les images, qui permettrait d'éviter une traduction simplement linéaire entre les deux termes et qui instituerait une 'traduction rhétorique", les objets sémiotiques en question sont pris en deux types de juxtaposition: un rapport métonymique où le thème (le texte écrit) recevrait du rhème (les dessins) une orientation plus précise (ici, la formalisation de la femme génératrice); et un rapport métaphorique où le thème engendrerait une nouvelle signiftance grâce au rhème (ici, la création artistique de la femme du poète).
