L'article decrit le projet Shropshire's Past Unfolded, realise dans le Shropshire Records and Research Services avec l'appui du Heritage Lottery Fund, afin de rattraper le retard accumule dans le catalogage et la conservation des fonds. Au cours d'un programme intensif de trois ans, trois equipes d'archivistes, de conservateurs, d'assistants et de volontaires ont catalogue chacune une partie du fonds en utilisant le logiciel CALM : les archives de Salt & Sons, notaires, d'une part, les collections des familles, des hopitaux et des entreprises d'autre part et enfin les documents paroissiaux et methodistes, des pouvoirs locaux, du County Quarter et des Petty Sessions.
