Abstract
Résumé Le processus de mondialisation économique et les nouvelles conditions de compétitivité imposent l’internationalisation des activités des sociétés. Cet article tente d’évaluer l’importance prise par les opérations de rapprochement d’entreprises (alliances coopératives, fusions et acquisitions) dans le développement international des sociétés. L’auteur présente les facteurs qui ont contribué à l’expansion internationale des entreprises. Ensuite, il décrit les principales formes d’internationalisation et l’évolution historique de leur poids respectif. Puis, il analyse les études empiriques disponibles et montre que le poids des liaisons entre entreprises dans l’internationalisation de celles-ci s’est considérablement accru durant les deux dernières décennies. Il examine également les principaux bénéfices et limites associés à ce mode de développement.
