L’information internationale dans le quotidien La Presse au tournant du xxe siècle

Abstract
À la lumière d’une analyse de contenu couvrant une période de 30 ans, l’auteure constate que le développement du « nouveau journalisme », au tournant du vingtième siècle, a fait régresser l’information internationale à la Une du quotidien québécois La Presse. L’intérêt pour l’information « de proximité », caractéristique du « nouveau journalisme », a notamment favorisé de manière croissante la couverture des événements locaux, régionaux et provinciaux au détriment de sujets internationaux. Ce recul de l’information internationale ne semble pas avoir affecté la popularité du journal puisque l’on note une hausse considérable des tirages de La Presse au cours de cette même période.
