L'anne 2004 marque le soixantime anniversaire de la cration de la Chaire de folklore l'Universit Laval et de ses archives (aujourd'hui AFEUL) qui ont assur une grande part de l'enseignement et de la recherche en ethnologie au Qubec. En juin 2003, une autre chaire de recherche a vu le jour, cette fois dfinie en patrimoine ethnologique. En prs de soixante ans, l'ethnologie s'est dveloppe progressivement et a volu en diverses directions qui sont tantt inhrentes aux acteurs de la recherche, tantt celles de l'enseignement, tantt celles de la diffusion.
