Cette recherche vise à relever les facteurs d’attractivité de la PME pour les futurs cadres à partir d’une analyse de leurs perceptions des caractéristiques propres à la PME. Sur la base d’un échantillon de 402 étudiants d’un Institut d’administration des entreprises, l’étude examine, d’une part, le rôle des biais cognitifs des futurs cadres et, d’autre part, l’évolution de leur représentation sur l’attractivité de la PME. Nous montrons que malgré un biais de perception plus faible relativement à celui de la grande entreprise, la PME souffre d’un manque d’identité et d’une attractivité décroissante permettant de modéliser un cycle d’attractivité de la PME. Nous concluons sur les implications managériales et scientifiques de cette recherche en discutant de l’intérêt pour le dirigeant de PME d’examiner les composantes du « mix marketing RH » et de l’agenda de recherche sous-jacent.
