Abstract
La démocratie est un système ancien, qui s’est décliné sous de nombreuses formes dans l’histoire, et notamment à l’intérieur de régimes républicains excluant plus ou moins le bas peuple du pouvoir. Les républiques ou les monarchies parlementaires occidentales actuelles, systèmes certes démocratiques mais au fonctionnement représentatif et indirect, connaissent aujourd’hui une crise profonde : le désamour des peuples. Comme remède, l’auteur propose un système démocratique direct et une déprofessionnalisation de la politique, qui permettraient à tous d’accéder à l’exercice du pouvoir tout en ayant des obligations envers les électeurs, sous peine d’être sanctionnés lors des nombreux scrutins organisés.
