Abstract
Les catégories sur lesquelles repose le débat sur l'avenir politique du Québec demeurent trop souvent prisonnières du discours politique actuel. À faire du fédéralisme et du nationalisme des entités inaliénables et incommensurables, on rapporte trop souvent leurs formes contemporaines à celles d'avant-guerre. On omet ainsi de rappeler que tous deux ont, durant les années 1960, puisé en partie à une semblable philosophie politique. Explorant les idéologies véhiculées par les intellectuels regroupés autour de Cité libre, cette note de recherche vise à mieux comprendre comment le « fédéralisme » des cité-libristes, avant que d'être une allégeance au Canada, est une adhésion à un système politique qui découle d'une philosophie dite personnaliste pouvant également légitimer le projet souverainiste.
