Résumé Afin de caractériser les pratiques infirmières de prévention et de promotion de la santé du cœur dans 20 CLSC québécois, une approche qualitative (n = 47 infirmières) et une approche quantitative (n = 177 infirmières et n = 3 802 usagers) ont été retenues pour recueillir l’information. Les résultats montrent que, malgré une perception positive de prévention exprimée par les infirmières, la réalité de la prévention et de la promotion souligne des lacunes dans la pratique quotidienne des infirmières. Le défi majeur de prévention et promotion est de consolider la place de la prévention secondaire dans la pratique quotidienne des infirmières et surtout d’intégrer la prévention primaire et la promotion dans leur pratique clinique quotidienne.
