Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse à la mention des enfants et des descendants dans les inscriptions législatives grecques des époques archaïque et classique. Les documents préservés réglementaient l’inclusion sociale et civique des enfants, l’exclusion civique des descendants d’individus subversifs, le rôle de l’enfant comme héritier principal et certains des autres rôles que l’enfant devait jouer au sein de sa famille et de sa patrie. Généralement, même lorsque l’enfant était nommé à titre individuel, c’est toute la lignée qui était concernée par les dispositions légales, qui visaient, d’une part, à contrôler la composition du corps civique et, d’autre part, à promouvoir la régulation interne des familles 1 .
