Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Summary Information as to how the signal of the Radio Imaging Method (RIM) changes when the system parameters change or the rock properties change is not well documented. Having a better understanding of the impact of these changes would assist in interpretations of RIM data. To quantify the impacts, a simulation of a RIM system was created in Matlab®. Representing the transmitter as a harmonic electric dipole, the simulation was set up to allow calculations of the amplitude and phase of the radiation at any point in a homogeneous whole space. This basic model allows an investigation of how the response changes due to three different types of variables: 1) the physical properties of the rock that the radiation passes through (conductivity, dielectric permittivity, and magnetic permeability); 2) the geometric parameters of the system (the distance between, and the angle between the two boreholes; and 3) the characteristics of the transmitter (frequency, current, and size). An investigation of the RIM signal in the context of varying these parameters will assist in understanding the results and the interpretation of complex geometric situations.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
