Abstract
Les auteurs soulèvent la question des renseignements que le chercheur peut tirer de matériaux de seconde main après les avoir combinés à des données plus certifiées. Dans une perspective méthodologique, l’exercice de la démonstration s’appuie sur un ensemble de 21 biographies de footballeurs choisis en raison de leur médiatisation, sur un corpus de 90 entretiens réalisés auprès d’éducateurs et de jeunes joueurs en situation de pré-contractualisation ou de néo-contractualisation et, dans une moindre mesure, sur des travaux de référence principalement sociologiques et historiques.
