Abstract
The antigenic activity of experimental rat mammary tumours induced by 7,12 dimethylbenz(α)anthracene has been studied with immunoelectrophoretic methods. This approach enables us to observe in greater detail the presence of antigens in tumours with various histological patterns and in different stages of differentiation. Antisera, obtained from rabbits immunized with these tumours, were absorbed with normal rat serum and organ lyophilizates. After exhaustion, one common precipitation line in the β-globulin region was registered in all 21 tumours investigated; after absorption with 1 tumour homogenate, 4 or fever lines in the α-globulin region remained, which differed from tumour to tumour.
